With the passing of the years, the world has managed to grow at an unprecedented pace. Industrialization has spread all over the world, making all economies more productive and efficient. Globalization has also contributed tremendously in pushing growth and development forward as a global market economy continues to consolidate. However, the ascension of man came at a great cost to the environment.

Today, the abuse of Earth's natural resources and the high levels of waste thrown into the environment threaten nature and mankind alike. Having mentioned this, why use alternative energy? Given the importance of protecting the environment and the life of man, societies all over the world have begun to concern themselves with taking measure to make sure that no further damage is done to the environment. In furthering those efforts, the goals include activities to reverse the damage that has been done throughout the years.

Advancements have been achieved in what has to do with energy production and waste disposal, but there still needs much to be done. In some areas, such as the United Kingdom and the United States, politics are still getting in the way of clean energy and waste disposal.

The world has historically depended on fossil fuel technology, and on nuclear technology, to generate power, but both technologies produce too much waste, which means that alternative technologies must be created in order to lessen the harm on the environment. Having said this, it is also important to mention that society needs to do more in terms of contributing to protect the environment.

Despite the fact that factories are responsible for depositing millions of gallons of waste into the environment every year, households are also participating in abusing the environment and bringing about its early destruction. Based on all of this, it seems that reversing the harmful effects of industry and society in general on the environment is impossible because even during the exercise of their daily lives, individuals harm the environment. However, an effort must be made to improve things, because if nothing is done, there will be no world for future generations to live in.

Earlier we posed a question: "why use alternative energy"? Clearly, alternative energy is important because it is the only way to completely eliminate the threat that hangs over mankind's head. As well, keep in mind that alternative energy is more economical, and if this were not enough, there will be no worries of it ever running out, as it is also renewable.
