Apex is seeking a Public Affairs Manager to help manage Apex's public affairs, including media relations, internal and external communications, community relations, grassroots advocacy, branding, marketing, issue management, and government relations. The Public Affairs Manager will also help manage Apex's strategic partnerships, organizational memberships, and coalition memberships at the regional and national-level.
REQUIREMENTS:
* A Bachelor's degree or higher in public relations, communications, political science, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience working in public relations, communications, marketing, journalism, or state or federal government.
* Facility and skill in working with media to build productive relationships and produce positive press.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Design Suite, and familiarity with web-based content management systems (i.e. Wordpress, Drupal, Perch, etc.)
* Experience building and executing effective social media campaigns.
* Demonstrated leadership and relationship management skills in managing third-party consultants, lobbyists, public relations firms, coalition members, and the public.
* Ability to lead collaborative efforts with peers and colleagues.
* Exceptional planning and organizational skills.
* Exceptional interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.
* Strong passion for renewable energy.
* Professional appearance and manner.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* MEDIA RELATIONS, including developing relationships with media reporting on Apex or its projects, developing responses to media inquiries, developing and distributing press releases, preparing Executive Team and other Apex corporate spokespeople for media or industry speaking opportunities.
* INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS, including hosting weekly company meetings, working with the Human Relations department to enhance employee morale and engagement, developing and disseminating company updates for internal purposes, and managing staff updates in cases where crisis communications are necessary.
* EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS, including helping to maintain and update Apex and project-specific websites, developing Apex social media strategy (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.), managing Apex social media presence, and tracking social media trending.
* MESSAGING, including developing corporate messaging and positioning statements, especially when crisis communications are necessary, and facilitating dissemination of messaging throughout Apex.
* MANAGING STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS, MEMBERSHIPS, AND COALITIONS, including identifying new strategic partnerships, managing participation in current strategic partnerships, and proactively identifying ways to utilize strategic partnerships to achieve public affairs goals.
* CORPORATE BRAND MANAGEMENT, including assisting in the consistent application of the Apex brand and positioning.
* CORPORATE MARKETING, including developing and implementing marketing campaigns and materials for Apex.
* GOVERNMENT RELATIONS, including PAC management, state and federal legislative tracking, managing lobbying efforts, and managing grassroots engagement efforts.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
